Tea tree oil

It’s a popular remedy for killing the causative agent of scabies. Tea tree oil has the ability to penetrate the skin, thereby, suffocating the itch mite.

To use it as a home remedy, you need to apply the oil directly to the affected areas using a cotton swab. You should also include the surrounding area where excessive itching occurs.

Besides the tea tree oil, you can also use cayenne as one of the effective remedies for scabies. Just like a tea tree oil, you need to apply this herb to the affected area.

What this herb does is that it burns the scabies without causing serious negative side effects. You can buy a packet of cayenne from a grocery store. Add it to a warm bath. Soak your body in it for a few minutes or until the water gets cold.

When bathing in cayenne, make sure that it won’t go near your eyes as it can cause irritation.


Zinc doesn’t directly treat scabies. Rather, it prevents a possible fungal outbreaks and secondary skin infections.

Clove oil

Clove is a popular food spice. Its oil contains anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties making it a perfect home remedy for scabies. It doesn’t only treat the rash but it also prevents secondary skin infection.

To use it, you need to apply drops of clove oil onto the affected skin. Leave it there overnight. You may also choose to combine this oil with honey and water and apply the mixture to the affected areas. Rinse it the following day.

In addition to these home remedies, it’s also necessary that you avoid scratching the affected area. This is to prevent further irritation. Then, make sure that you thoroughly clean the room where the mites have been thriving.
